20 WAYS TO RELIEVE STRESS AND ANXIETY
1) Eat healthy and well-balanced meals
2) Get enough sleep and rest
3) Maintain a regular exercise routine but don’t exercise within 2-3hours before bedtime
4) Reduce caffeine intake
5) Avoid smoking and taking alcohol
6) Encourage meditation and deep breathing exercises for stress management
7) Make time for hobbies and relaxation
8) Take a stroll or walk atleast twice in a week
9) Listen to relaxing music
10) Establish a regular sleep schedule by ensuring that you go to bed and get up at the same time daily
11) Make sure your bed and environment are comfortable and use a soft and comfortable pillow
12) Avoid sleeping too much during the day
13) Use your bedroom for sleeping only and not for working and watching TV
14) Talk to a friend, spouse or family member when you feel nervous or anxious to get the troubles off your mind
15) Be assertive by saying NO when you’re tired or need to rest. You don’t need to meet other’s expectations or demands
16) Chew gums when stressed as chewing gums reduces the effects of stress on the brain
17) Get a massage and spa treatment once in a while
18) Learn to keep a positive attitude and laugh often as laughing reduces the physical effects of stress on the body. You can watch comedies or read funny books
